Interview conducted by Alan Cherry as part of the LDS Afro-American Oral History Project by the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University on 10 June 1987. Wright talks about growing up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He explains his religious and educational experiences in the South and his feelings about segregation. He tells about the influence of the Mormon Church on his marriage. He describes his conversion to the Mormon Church, its impact on his life, and his views of Afro-Americans.
